Private Proxies

What is a Private Proxy?

A private proxy, also known as a dedicated proxy, is a proxy that is not accessible to anyone else.
Besides the obvious benefit of not sharing in the consequences of others’ actions, there are many other advantages of using a private proxy.

It’s much faster for instance, because congestion from other users is not an issue.
This can really speed up whatever work you’re doing. Another timesaver is the ease with which some applications work with private proxies as opposed to shared proxies.

Most people enjoy the fact that private proxies offer a much wider selection of geographic locations for their IP addresses. Whether you want your IP addresses to be from the US, India, France, or elsewhere, you should have no problem arranging that with a private proxy.

Why do I need a private proxy?

On the internet you almost always give away a lot of information about yourself: Unencrypted e-mails can be read by the administrators of the e-mail server, if the connection is not encrypted, and also the internet service provider and other parties sniffing the traffic of that connection are able to know the contents. Furthermore, the same applies to any kind of traffic generated on the internet (web browsing, instant messaging, etc).

If someone wanted to find out where you’ve been and how long you’ve been there for instance, it really wouldn’t be that hard. Even your own personal or work computer can become a spy watching and recording your every internet move. By using a private proxy, you can be sure your browsing sessions are private and secure.

The most common type of hacking is the information gathering companies do to find out where you live, what your phone number is, and what business you’re in. While these may not seem too sensitive, they can cause a big hassle in the long run. One hacker who gets this information can sell it to hundreds of companies or even other hackers.

Soon, you’ll be overrun with junk mail and sales calls. Even worse, if one hacker has a few pieces of information about you and sells it to another hacker with other information, sometimes they can bring together a full picture of your digital identity, getting enough information to open accounts in your name and to put things like your social security number to no good.

What are the advantages of private proxies?

A secure proxy can keep your information safe and won’t allow hackers through to your computer where they can install a key logger to record everything you type. A private proxy is great for keeping your identity and internet privacy safe from the eyes of others, and it’s even more useful for preventing hackers from using that information against you.

Private proxies are fast

If the proxy you are using is very slow (probably a free one) then you’ll get fed up of using it and look for a private proxy.

Private proxies are safer

Private proxies are more likely to help you bypass filters and firewalls.
Most of the free proxies are black listed and will not help you much while browsing anonymously.

Deciding to buy a private proxy

Because you get more IP address, a wider selection of geographic locations, and faster speeds, you pay more. If you plan to do a lot of work and need these features though, then the cost might be worth it. Just be sure to take your budget and intended use into consideration before you decide to buy a proxy.

Whatever your reason for covering your tracks on the internet, a private proxy is an easy way to keep your browsing history secret and your paranoia at a minimum.
